Sailing On San Francisco Bay

Here's a nice way to spend a day: sail from Berkeley to Angel Island, have sandwiches on the island, and then sail back by Sausalito, the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and back to Berkelely.

Yours truly, the amazing human ballast man...

My boss Reed, the Captain, both on dry and wet...

1st Mate Mike Tidd, and the beautiful SF cityscape...

Our first and only port of call...

Das boot. Don't like the way we parked it? Hey, it's a rental!

Other boats in the cove...

Coming up on the slot, where wind blows through the Golden Gate. Big container vessel is coming through too.

Alcatraz. It was windy and rough to the right due to the slot, and calm to the left of Alcatraz.

Ah, this is the life...

Another trip in July 2003...

Bert is the reluctant sailor...

Lookin' good boys, now can we get on the boat and go?

I never should have let you guys rig this boat!
